Laser works upstream: fewer hairs grow back, so fewer hairs can become ingrown. That is the difference between treating the mark and treating what produces it. Comfort follows the same path, since the area needs less shaving.

Ingrown hairs & razor bumps
The razor cuts the hair, the skin closes over it, and the bump comes back in the same place. Laser reduces how many hairs grow back, and with them the number of occasions. Of the two ends of the problem, that is the end treated at the source.
What is happening in the skin.
A razor cuts the hair at an angle, just under the surface. The hair grows back pointed, the skin has had time to close over it, and it grows sideways instead of out. The redness that follows is the skin reacting to a hair growing where it should not. As long as the hair grows back, the cycle starts again.

The limits, said plainly
What it fixes, and what it does not.
An already irritated area is treated better once it has settled. If the skin is raw on the day, the session is postponed rather than added to the irritation. And the result builds as regrowth decreases, session after session.
- Can skin with razor bumps be treated?
- We assess it together at the clinic. Mild irritation usually responds well, while very irritated skin is first given time to calm.
- Do I have to stop shaving?
- No, shaving remains the preferred method between sessions. Simply avoid pulling the hair out at the root: the laser needs it in place to reach it.
