Fine, light or white hairs

The laser follows pigment, and a white, grey, red or very blond hair carries too little of it to be seen. Electrolysis works independently of colour: a fine probe treats follicles one at a time, which makes it precise on small areas.

The treatment: Electrolysis

What is happening in the skin.

The laser works by aiming at melanin: pigment absorbs the light, turns it into heat, and the heat acts on the follicle. A light hair holds little melanin, so there is little there to absorb anything. It is not a question of power, it is a question of target.

Our answer

The treatment we steer toward.

Electrolysis

15–60 min · from $25 per session

Electrolysis goes around the question. A fine probe follows the hair down to the follicle and applies a current there: colour does not enter into it. It is slow by nature, so the treatment is booked in blocks of fifteen to sixty minutes, and it suits small, precise areas.

The limits, said plainly

What it fixes, and what it does not.

One follicle at a time means what it says. Over a large surface, time becomes the deciding factor, and the laser remains the right tool when the hair is dark. Many plans combine the two: laser for the volume, electrolysis for what is left.

Why does the laser not work on white hairs?
Because it follows pigment, and a white hair has lost almost all of it: the light passes through without meeting it. Electrolysis, on the other hand, treats the follicle directly, whatever its colour.
How much time should I plan for?
Electrolysis is booked in blocks of fifteen to sixty minutes. The ideal length depends on the area and the density, and we choose it together before we begin.
