The treatment, explained

What is electrolysis?

A single‑use sterile probe, finer than a hair, glides along the hair to the follicle, without piercing the skin. A few seconds of microcurrent are enough to neutralize the papilla, where regrowth begins: permanent hair removal, follicle by follicle.

Where the laser follows melanin, electrolysis works regardless of hair colour. It suits white, grey, red or blond hairs, every skin tone, and delicate areas such as the eyebrows and ears.

Three methods are available for your skin: galvanic, thermolysis and blend, which combines the two. We practise all three with the Apilus Senior 3G, and the one chosen for you is explained at your consultation.

Plainly said

It is permanent, and it is slow

Electrolysis treats one follicle at a time: that is what makes it permanent, and why it takes time. Plan on roughly a year to a year and a half of regular sessions for an area, following the pace of hair growth.

For a large area and a faster result, laser is often the ideal choice, and we’ll say so. Electrolysis comes into its own when hair colour, the area or permanence matters more than speed. It’s booked by time, rather than by area.

The laser follows the hair’s pigment, ideal for larger areas with dark hair. Electrolysis treats each follicle one by one, well suited to fine, light, white or red hairs and areas needing precision. The two often complement each other, and we’ll guide you at your consultation.
Is it truly permanent?
Yes: electrolysis is a recognized method of permanent hair removal, suited to hair of every colour, including hairs the laser can’t detect.
Is it hygienic?
Absolutely: every session uses a sterile, single‑use filament.
