What is happening in the skin.
Melanin is the skin’s defence. Sun, an old inflammation or a hormonal shift can make it overproduce in one spot, and the pigment stays once the cause has gone. Depending on how deep it sits, it is in the surface layer or lower down, and that is not the same work.

The limits, said plainly

Pigment comes back if it is fed. Daily sun protection is part of the treatment rather than the aftercare, and the work undoes itself over a summer without it. Spots fade gradually rather than at once, and the depth sets the pace.
- How long before I see a difference?
- Your skin renews itself on a cycle of four to six weeks, and that cycle sets the pace. A clearer complexion often takes shape over a few sessions.

- It all depends on how deep the mark sits, which we look at closely before choosing. The two can also be combined in a course, one preparing the skin for the other.
