What is a chemical peel?

Chemical peel. Dermazur

A peel is the careful application of an acid solution that dissolves the bonds holding dead cells at the surface. Your skin then renews itself, simply a little faster, following the natural cycle of about 28 days it already keeps.

Each acid has its role. AHAs, glycolic and lactic, work at the surface on radiance, spots and texture. BHA, salicylic acid, reaches into the pore, ideal for skin prone to blackheads. Contact time, controlled from start to finish, sets the depth.

Every protocol ends gently with LED, included, to soothe the skin.

A peel supports cell renewal, which follows cycles of about four weeks. The glow shows from the first session, while spots and texture refine layer by layer.

So we work in a series of 3 to 6 sessions, 2 to 4 weeks apart, at your skin’s own pace.

    The solution is applied in even layers. You may feel a light tingling or gentle warmth, closely monitored for your comfort.

    Neutralization

    Depending on the acid, the peel is neutralized or removed, and the exfoliation stops right away.

    Aftercare

    Soothing care closes the session, along with our advice: hydration and diligent sun protection, without exception.

What a peel cannot do

A series of 3 to 6 sessions is usually recommended; the exact number depends on your skin and your goals. For a deep scar, a superficial peel doesn’t replace medical treatment, and we’ll tell you so.

One essential instruction: sun protection. Without it, a peel can darken spots instead of lightening them.

Not necessarily. Our Biophora peels are carefully dosed: depending on the acid chosen and your goal, flaking stays invisible or light for 2 or 3 days.
How do you choose the acid?
Based on your skin and your goals, at your consultation: glycolic, from sugar cane, for radiance and fine lines; lactic, from milk, for softness and hydration; salicylic for oily and blemish‑prone skin.
