Electrolysis is Permanent hair removal for Men & Women

If you are tired of your painful and time-consuming waxing, plucking, and shaving routine, and have to do it all over again? You may want to consider Electrolysis and/or Laser Hair Removal Fortunately, Dermazur Clinic has the perfect permanent solution for you! When people think of permanent hair removal, they often think of laser hair removal. However, this method is known for being ineffective on white, grey, blond, red, light, and thin hair. And not even an option for some areas like Eyebrows and Ears. Electrolysis hair removal achieves the same permanent results as laser hair removal but is more inclusive since it is safe for all skin tones and all hair types.

WHAT IS ELECTROLYSIS?

This procedure involves gently  sliding a very thin and disposable sterile needle into the hair follicle and emitting minute pulses of electrical energy. These microcurrents effectively destroy the hair growth cells and loosen existing hair to leave you with permanently smoother, hair-free skin. Electrolysis is the science of permanent hair removal. Using state-of-the-art technology, a small amount of electricity is gently applied to the base of the hair follicle. This process destroys the hair growth tissue. Therefore, the regenerative ability of the hair follicle is permanently eliminated.

Types of Electrolysis:

There are three modalities used for electrolysis:
1- Galvanic: This current produces a chemical reaction within the hair follicle eliminating the hair growth cells.
2- High Frequency (Thermolysis): This process produces a heat reaction within the hair follicle. This modality can be utilized in two ways:
(1) Flash method of thermolysis uses high intensity current for less time in the follicle
(2) the current is used at lower intensity and longer timing.
(3)- Blend: This process is a combination of both galvanic and high frequency.
At our clinic, we use all types of electrolysis. After the consultation,we will recommend which method(s) best suits you

Electrolysis Benefits:

● Lasts a lifetime, most clients have permanent hair loss
● Great for both men & women.
● Very safe for facial hair, including eyebrows, ears, and nose
● Works perfectly on blond, red, grey, white, and black hair as well
● For all skin tones & all hair types
● Removes ingrown hairs
● Better for individuals with fine hair as well as for touch-ups after completing your laser treatment

How Does Electrolysis Work?

The part of the skin that controls the development and growth of hair is called the dermal papilla. This is located at the bottom of the hair follicle. Even if the hair is removed by tweezing, the dermal papilla (which is part of the skin) will still remain. This is why tweezing is not permanent. With electrolysis, the visible hair is used to locate the follicle opening. A very fine filament is inserted into this opening and then guided to the bottom of the hair follicle where the papilla is located. Once in position, a small amount of current is applied. This action cauterizes the papilla and makes it permanently unable to regenerate hair. Note: When done correctly this process does not puncture the skin.

Timing is Everything

In order for the hair to be permanently removed, it must be treated while the hair is still attached to the dermal papilla. This occurs in the anagen stage of the hair growth cycle.

Am I a Good Candidate for Electrolysis Hair Removal?

Absolutely! Whether you are a Man, Woman, Transgender, or LGBT! There are really no restrictions on who can have an electrolysis hair removal treatment. The treatment treats each follicle one by one, not limited to the color of the hair. So, any color of hair or skin tone is safe to use electrolysis. However, due to the precise nature of the treatment, the only drawback is the time it takes for each session and the commitment to the number of appointments.
It could take up to a year to see the final results, but you will never have to deal with hair in the treated area for a lifetime. If you are looking for a quick fix for hair removal, electrolysis would not be a solution. But if you are looking for a permanent hair removal solution and willing to wait for the final results, electrolysis is the procedure for you.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?

No one will ever give you an exact time frame. Generally speaking, you are likely to require between 1 year and 1 year and a half of intensive electrolysis. The total number of sessions needed to remove hair permanently from a particular area will vary from person to person. This is because the hair follicle is the only organ in the human body that can regenerate Each individual responds differently to the treatment depending on the following variants.

Important Factors to Consider:

It is important to have an initial consultation with a trained hair removal technician to assess your individual case history. Every client will be on a different treatment program and the technician must take the following points into consideration, as they will affect the treatment process.
● The area to be treated
● Previous history of hair removal
● Medication (Previous & Current)
● Underlying medical conditions
● The age of the person to be treated
● Gender difference/Transgender/Cisgender
● The skin’s texture and moisture level (dry vs. moist)
● The vulnerability of the skin (hyposensitivity vs. hypersensitivity)
● The texture and nature of the hair (coarse vs. fine/straight vs. curly)
Understanding the factors affecting hair growth will enable the client to have reasonable expectations, and assist the client in making the commitment necessary to achieve their desired results.

How is Laser Hair Removal Different from Electrolysis?

Laser hair removal uses a concentrated beam of light called selective photothermolysis to burn the follicle that creates hair. The pigment from the hair absorbs the light beams, and the energy from the light converts into heat, which damages the strands of hair and follicles. The damage delays future hair growth but does not permanently stop hair growth.

Both hair removal techniques use a source of heat to damage the hair follicle, but with electrolysis, the heat from the probe cuts off the blood supply to the hair follicle to permanently stop hair growth.

With laser hair removal, the light beams cover a wider area but don’t treat each follicle at the root level, and the beams target the pigments of the hair, making it ideal for lighter skin tones with darker hair pigment. However, laser hair removal is not as effective for gray, blonde, red, or white hair colors because they don’t absorb light well. And people with darker skin tones may encounter some challenges with this procedure due to the lack of contrast between skin tone and hair color.
